Mohali, September 11: Punjab’s footballing heartbeat just got louder. Punjab FC, one of India’s most ambitious football clubs and part of Roundglass Sports Private Limited—the sports arm of Roundglass, a global organization dedicated to holistic wellbeing—has expanded its grassroots network with the launch of 12 new development centres across Punjab, taking the total to an impressive 26 centres. With this expansion, Roundglass is building a robust grassroots-to-professional pipeline that is already producing players for India across youth and senior levels.

In a state renowned for its sporting heritage, Roundglass and Punjab FC are on a mission to make football a culture, providing access to structured coaching and pathways to the national stage for boys and girls as young as eight.

The new centres span across Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Muktsar Sahib, Pathankot, Barnala, Rupnagar, and beyond, each a hub for hundreds of young players. These facilities cater to age groups from Under-8 to Under-19, offering them professional coaching, nutrition guidance, and a clear roadmap to higher levels of competition.

Each centre tells its own story of local pride and ambition:

Doaba United FC, Adampur, Jalandhar now trains 85 children (60 boys, 25 girls), bringing elite football access to a football-loving belt.

United Punjab FC, Pathankot has already welcomed 80 boys eager to take their first steps toward professional football.

Centres like Babu Amar Singh Sports and Youth Club, Sahauli, Ludhiana, and Bajwara, Hoshiarpur, have placed a strong emphasis on girls’ participation, ensuring inclusivity.

Other additions like Kala Mehar Stadium, Barnala and Sher E Punjab FC, Shampura, Rupnagar have become football hotspots almost overnight.

This expansion builds on a strong foundation of 14 existing centres that have consistently churned out promising players. In places like Dibipura, Tarn Taran, and Bahadurgarh, Patiala, girls’ participation has matched or even exceeded that of boys, proving Punjab FC’s commitment to equality in access to the sport.

From Grassroots to National Teams

Punjab FC’s development model is already showing results. In just a few years, multiple academy graduates have represented India across Under-16, Under-17, Under-19, and senior teams, making Punjab FC one of the most productive academies in the country. The structured pathway means a child starting at a Under-8 centre today has a direct line of progression through development centres, academy teams, and eventually, the Indian Super League (ISL).

This success is rooted in a simple philosophy: “Talent is everywhere; opportunity is not.” Punjab FC’s network ensures every child, regardless of geography or gender, gets access to professional infrastructure and coaching that was previously confined to metro cities.

Changing Punjab’s Football Story

Punjab has always been known for hockey and kabaddi, but football is quietly becoming a part of its sporting DNA thanks to Roundglass. Training grounds that were once empty are now bustling with children in professional kits, honing their skills under licensed coaches. Parents who once saw football as a hobby are now watching their children chase real pathways to professional careers.

The club’s efforts also have a ripple effect beyond sport. Young athletes gain discipline, confidence, and community support, while rural towns and villages benefit from increased engagement and sporting infrastructure.

A Network That Inspires

With 26 centres now operational, Punjab FC is building one of the largest grassroots networks in Indian football. From Amritsar to Barnala, Pathankot to Muktsar Sahib, no corner of Punjab is too remote for football dreams.

This expansion isn’t just about quantity; it’s about quality coaching, equal opportunities for girls, and a direct pathway to India’s highest footballing stages. Punjab FC has positioned itself as more than just a club, it’s a movement to elevate the state’s football ecosystem and inspire a new generation of athletes.

As these centres grow, the faces of tomorrow’s Indian football stars are already taking shape, training day after day on fields across Punjab, wearing the Punjab FC crest with pride.
