New Chandigarh, October 3: Punjab FC were held to a goalless draw by International Football Club in their Punjab Super League 2025 clash in New Chandigarh on Monday. The result stretched PFC’s unbeaten run in the competition to seven matches, but the Shers remain three points adrift of table-toppers Sher-e-Punjab FC.

The match saw Punjab FC dominate possession and create a number of opportunities, but the finishing touch eluded them on the day. In the first half, striker Arshvir Singh came close to breaking the deadlock with a powerful header that was tipped over the bar by the IFC goalkeeper. Midfielder Satpal also tried his luck from distance, but his shot whistled narrowly past the post.

International FC, meanwhile, focused on keeping their defensive structure intact and looked to hit on the counter. They threatened briefly in the second half when their forward tested PFC goalkeeper Kiran with a sharp effort, but the custodian was alert to avert the danger.

Punjab FC pressed hard in the closing stages, with substitutes Suhail and Uvais injecting pace into the attack, yet IFC held firm to frustrate the hosts and secure a share of the spoils.

Despite the dropped points, Punjab FC remain in the hunt for top spot. They are currently three points behind Sher-e-Punjab FC but will have an opportunity to close the gap when they face Young FC on October 8 in their next fixture.

With their unbeaten streak now extended to seven matches, the Shers continue to show consistency and resilience, keeping themselves firmly in the title race.
