Mohali, October 26: Punjab FC has strengthened its squad ahead of the AIFF Super Cup 2025 opener against Gokulam Kerala FC on October 27, announcing the signings of goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh and forward Bikash Singh Sagolsem.
Punjab-born Arshdeep Singh, 28, joins the club on a one-year contract from Indian Super League (ISL) side Hyderabad FC, significantly bolstering the team’s goalkeeping ranks.
A native of Mahilpur, Arshdeep began his journey at the AIFF Elite Academy before turning professional with Minerva Punjab. Promoted to the senior side for the 2016–17 season, he played a key role in the club’s historic I-League title-winning campaign in 2017–18. His early years also saw him feature in both the AFC Champions League Qualifiers and the AFC Cup, gaining valuable continental experience.
Proven ISL Pedigree
Arshdeep made his ISL debut with Odisha FC in 2019 and went on to make 33 appearances across three seasons. He later joined FC Goa for the 2022–23 season, adding 17 appearances, before moving to Hyderabad FC for the 2024–25 campaign.
His return to Punjab marks a significant homecoming and adds leadership, composure, and top-tier experience to the team’s defense.
Attacking Boost with Bikash Singh Sagolsem
Adding to their offensive depth, Punjab FC have also signed 24-year-old winger Bikash Singh Sagolsem, who brings speed, versatility, and creativity to the frontline.
Hailing from Manipur, Bikash began his professional career with TRAU FC in the I-League, where he impressed with his quick feet and attacking instincts. His performances earned him a move to East Bengal FC, where he gained valuable top-tier experience in the Indian Super League. Most recently, he turned out for Real Kashmir FC, showcasing his ability to stretch defenses and deliver crucial contributions in the final third.
A dynamic wide player capable of operating on both flanks, Bikash is known for his direct runs, dribbling ability, and work rate — attributes that will complement Punjab FC’s attacking style under head coach Staikos Vergetis.
His addition is expected to add balance and unpredictability to the team’s attack as Punjab FC prepare for their Super Cup campaign opener.
