Hoshiarpur, October 23: Punjab FC continued their impressive run in the Punjab Super League 2025, defeating Olympian Jarnail Football Academy in a thrilling contest to stretch their unbeaten streak to 11 matches. The victory further cements Punjab FC’s position at the top of the table, with 36 points from 16 matches.
The Shers made a flying start, taking the lead in just the 5th minute through Harsh Tiwari, who finished confidently after a well-worked move. Momentum stayed with Punjab FC as Boby Singh doubled the advantage only seven minutes later, putting the hosts in firm control of the match.
Jarnail FA managed to pull one back in the 37th minute, when Kamaldeep successfully converted a penalty, reducing the deficit. However, Punjab FC responded swiftly — Ekmeet Singh restored the two-goal cushion in the 41st minute, making it 3–1 at halftime.
The second half saw a spirited fightback from Jarnail FA, who scored their second goal in the 51st minute to make it 3–2. Despite late pressure from the visitors, Punjab FC’s disciplined defense held firm to secure a vital three points.
The result marks Punjab FC’s 11th win of the tournament, continuing their dominant run in the competition as they aim to finish the season on top of the table.
